Here’s a product that I can’t believe didn’t already exist.
A company called Fat Spaniel has made a device that measures how much energy each of your solar panels is collecting, so that you can accurately see how much money you are saving by using solar panels. Surprisingly, the way most people measure, if they measure at all, is to compare their electric bill from BEFORE solar panels with AFTER solar panels. Not very accurate, I’d guess!
This is a great step in helping people see if solar panels are a practical option or not. Solar electricity is notorious for a long payback period, so now you can actually measure and see if you are getting your money’s worth.
