Thanks to a great review by a reader, we now know that the eco-friendly hand-cranked Wonder Wash clothes washer we featured a while back has some flaws. Our reader commented:
I washed the whole six loads and I figured I will then do six loads of rinse but after hand wringing of water, my hands turned into mush and could not crank the handle any more. However, the washer did what it promised and cleaned my cloths to about same level as electric one would have done. All in all, I think this is a pretty good machine and I saved 50% of my electric usage for the laundry.
He then mentioned a handy device that makes a perfect companion to the Wonder Wash: an ultra compact spin dryer. The dryer simplifies the issue of wringing out your clothes, as uses very little electricity. You can use this eco-friendly gadget with a tumble dryer or as a standalone dryer. It gently dries your clothes and removes residual detergents, etc. If you use it along with a standard tumbling dryer, the manufacturers claim that you can reduce drying time by about 30 minutes. This translates to big energy savings. It has an 11 lb capacity for wet laundry, and a 5 lb capacity for dry laundry, making it perfect for those living alone in an apartment.

Just a quick note to say that the dryer that says it’s out of stock should be available within a couple months or so! Thanks!
Oy, that sounds like it requires a lot of muscle power. Still, if it gets clothes nice and clean, it’s worth a look. It looks like it’s great exercise, too. =D
Our larger spin dryers are now back in stock again.
