On the Wired Magazine blog there’s an interesting post about how the DOE and ECD Ovonics are working on a method for creating internal combustion engines that run on hydrogen. The only thing is that these engines are low power (under 25 hp), which means that the first machines to run on hydrogen may be lawn mowers. This is a nice little project that will hopefully lead to hydrogen technology for bigger, gas-guzzling vehicles. Of course, “human powered” mowers have existed for a long time and produce no emissions!
